Fat Chance! Fat Bike Race

Back and bigger than ever...at least longer! Short's Brewing Fat Bike Series and Crystal Mountain Resort are excited to offer a true 50km fat bike race over the pristine trails and undulating hills of Benzie County. Crystal Mountain has opened up their winter trails to fat bikes, and we're celebrating with our biggest course so far. Racers will choose from 50km or 25km races for the second leg of the SBFBS, and do so with the biggest challenge to date.

Registration and packet pick-up are at the beautiful Thistle, Crystal's nicest fireplace and a beautiful restaurant to settle in for a big day on the bike. That comfy sofa and a selection of Short's Brewing's finest should be ample motivation to keep on plugging along, with an awards ceremony to follow directly after all the races have finished.

Fat Chance! will do one of two things to the points series; either provide a launching pad for the Thirst Mutilator winner to move ahead, or let another ride slide into the lead. Jorden Wakeley has certainly had Fat Chance! pegged in years past, but there are a lot of riders whose talents are suited to the fast, mostly fat and perfectly manicured course that awaits some of the best fat bikers in the Midwest. And with Fat Chance! returning as a Great Lakes Fat Bike Series event, you're going to see the deepest field in the state of Michigan!
