Fishtown Shanty Aid - CANCELLED

The Fishtown Shanty Aid event has been cancelled

This week the Fishtown Preservation Board of Directors and staff made the difficult decision to cancel the Fishtown Shanty Aid event due to high water becoming a pressing day-to-day issue, with no relief in sight. To put it simply, we can’t pull off an event of this size while dealing with ever-higher waters and the daily threat of flooding and its impact on infrastructure, shanties and safety issues. The water has been forecasted to rise another 6+ inches, and not accounting for possible increased flow over the Leland Dam, our Fishtown event space could be impacted by water.

What’s Next
• Fishtown Shanty Aid will now be a fundraising movement, as a part of The Campaign for Fishtown
• We look forward to celebrating the successful completion of the site projects with everyone once they are done.
