Join us for the 1st Annual Slim Down with RiverTown Weight Loss Challenge Weigh-in and registration on February 7, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Hudson House Grand Hotel! We will be awarding OVER $6,750 in cash grand prizes and have a charity donation goal of $1,500 to be given to a local non-profit in the RiverTown region!


What is Slim Down with RiverTown Weight Loss Challenge?

Slim Down with RiverTown is a 13 Week, community challenge to commit to a healthier lifestyle, put on by the RiverTown Multimedia. The challenge starts with our Official Weigh-In event on February 7, 2019, at which teams of 2 or 4 come to be weighed in, chat with local health experts about strategy during the challenge, and the first 150 pre-registrants receive goody bags!

Throughout the challenge, each team member will log-in to www.challengerunner.com by Friday by 12 pm and report your weekly weight. We will also hold weekly challenges via our Facebook, provide our favorite answer to that week's question and you will win prizes for your whole team from one of our awesome sponsors!

We will hold the Official Weigh-Out event on May 8, 2019, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at a location TBD. Participants will come to be weighed-out, chat with local sponsors, have your "after" photos taken, and win prizes! We will hold our Winner Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. so stick around to find out who wins! Winning teams are based on the total percentage of body weight loss. The top male, female and co-ed teams of 4 will win $1,000 per team! The top male, female and co-ed teams of 2 will win $500 per team! Second place male, female and co-ed teams of 4 will win $500 per team, and second place male, female and co-ed teams of 2 will win $250 per team!

How do I participate?

If you would like to pre-register, simply click on what team category you would like to sign up for an entire your entire team's information. The cost to participate is $15 per person, with a portion of that amount going to support a local non-profit in the RiverTown region!

Registration is also available at the event Weigh-in for the same cost.

Pre-Registering will get you through the lines more quickly and the first 100 pre-registered contestants receive a goody bag at the event!

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY.
PARTICIPATION CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND DECISIONS, CONSENT TO USE AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS. By entering this contest, each participant warrants that he or she has read and agrees to abide by all contest rules (“Official Rules”) and that he or she is not prohibited from participating in the contest. Participation in this contest constitutes participant’s full and unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Forum Communications Company (“FCC”), its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees and agents, which are final, binding and non-negotiable in all respects. Each participant agrees to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless FCC and its subsidiaries, affiliates, shareholders, employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, attorneys, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers from any liability arising from or related to the contest and/or the receipt or use of the prizes awarded in connection with the contest, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD CONSULT WITH A QUALIFIED HEALTHCARE PROVIDER BEFORE ENGAGING IN THIS CONTEST AND DURING THIS CONTEST. LOSING WEIGHT CAN BE RISKY IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES AND FCC WANTS TO AVOID ANY POTENTIAL INJURIES. PARTICIPANTS ASSUME ALL RISKS OF THEIR PARTICIPATION. Please note that weight loss should be the result of healthier eating and exercise habits and participants should participate in a fair and healthy manner. Participants are not allowed to:
Use diet pills (herbal or prescription appetite suppressants, metabolism enhancers, etc.);
Use laxatives or colonics;
Use water pills (diuretics), unless such diuretics are prescribed by a doctor for a medical condition such as high blood pressure;
Engage in binging or excessive hydration;
Engage in purging (self-induced vomiting);
Engage in excessive dehydration;
Or engage in weight loss medical procedures during the course of the contest.


ELIGIBILITY. This contest is open to participants who are U.S. residents 18 years of age and older, excluding residents of Rhode Island, New York and Florida. Each participant must be a member of a team of two (2) or four (4) people. Each participant may only be a member of one (1) team. Proof of age and identity must be furnished upon request. Employees, agents, independent contractors and affiliates of FCC and immediate family members of all such persons, are not eligible to participate in this contest. FCC reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, suspend or amend this contest at any time for any reason without prior notice. FCC further reserves the right to amend these Official Rules at any time without prior notice, at its sole discretion. FCC reserves the right to disqualify any participant for any reason, including, but not limited to, violation of these Official Rules or infringement of the rights of a third party. This promotion is void where prohibited by law. FCC is not responsible for any printing or typographical errors in any material associated with the contest.

TO ENTER. This contest will run between 4:00 p.m. CST. On Thursday, February 7th, 2019 until 7:00 p.m. CST. on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019. The contest will include: an initial weigh in at the Weigh-In Center (defined below); 13 weekly weigh ins; and one (1) final weigh in at the Weigh Out Center (location TBD) upon conclusion of the 13 week period and each contestant will provide a completed entry form for the team, as well as a participant waiver for each individual participant, at the Hudson House Grand Hotel located at 1616 Crest View Drive, Hudson, WI  54016, the “Weigh-in Center”.  At the Weigh-in Center, each participant will be weighed, and his/her weight will be recorded by FCC. In addition, a team photograph will be taken at the Weigh-in Center. The clothing at the Weigh-in should be appropriate athletic attire, as determined in FCC’s sole discretion, and participants will be asked to remove shoes, overcoats, jackets and contents from pockets for the actual weigh-in. Participants should not layer clothing or do anything that will increase or distort their individual weight for the initial weigh-in.

The entry form and participant waiver can be found online at slimdownwithrivertown.com or may be picked up at the Weigh-in Center. In connection with the entry, participants will be required to provide their name, postal address, gender, birth date, email address, team name and a team photograph.

All completed entries and participant waivers must be received no later than 7:00 pm CST on February 7, 2019 (“Eligible Entries”). Submissions received after this date and time will not be valid. Each team will be provided with a team webpage that the team members may access throughout the contest.

Each Friday during the contest period, each team member must do an individual weigh in, such weigh-in may be completed at any location of the participant’s choosing. The clothing at the weekly weigh in should be substantially equivalent clothing as they wore for the weigh in on the Start Date. After all members of the team have done their individual weigh-ins, on or before Friday at 12:00pm CST of each week (“Weekly Weigh In Time”), a member of the team must log onto slimdownwithrivertown.com and access his/her team webpage in order to enter the weekly weight of all team members. If a team fails to provide its weekly weigh in amounts by the Weekly Weigh-in Time, for any reason, the team will be disqualified from the contest.

On the Completion Date, all participants must appear in person at the Weigh-out Center for the final weigh in of the contest (or weigh out). Final weigh-in will occur between 4:00 p.m. CST until 7:00 p.m. CST on the Completion Date. At the Weigh-Out Center (location TBD), each participant will be weighed and his/her weight will be recorded by FCC. In addition, a final team photograph will be taken at the Weigh-in Center. Participants must wear substantially equivalent clothing for their official weigh out as they wore for the weigh-in on the Start Date.

The calculation for all prizes shall be determined by taking the teams beginning weight minus the ending weight from specified dates (as set forth below in more detail), which provides the total number of pounds lost in a given period of time. The total number of pounds lost will be divided by the beginning weigh, which sum will be multiplied by 100 which equals the percentage of weight loss for such period of time.

Persons submitting entries under false pretenses will be disqualified. If for any reason the Internet portion of the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by a computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the contest, FCC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest. FCC reserves the rights, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest. FCC has no obligation to notify a participant of his/her disqualification. If a participant is disqualified for any reason, then the entire team is disqualified. Caution: any attempt by a participant to undermine the legitimate operation of the contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, FCC reserves the right to prosecute and seek damages from any such participant to the fullest extent of the law. FCC is not responsible for any lost, illegible, or misdirected entries. Entries will not be returned and will become the property of FCC for promotional and other use, and by entering participants agree to assign any and all rights in and to the entries, and copyrights thereof, to FCC. By entering, each participant authorizes FCC to use his or her name, likeness and image in its advertising and promotion.

PRIZE.
Weekly Prizes: Various weekly contests will be announced. The same team can be named the winner in multiple weeks. On or before 10am CST on Monday following the Weekly Weigh-in Time, FCC will announce the winning team.
Grand Prize: The team that has lost the largest percentage of total weight loss from the Start Date to the Completion Date will be named the Grand Prize winner. While the Grand Prize winner doesn’t have to have won any weekly prizes throughout the contest period to be eligible for the Grand Prize, winning a weekly prize or prizes will not disqualify a team from winning the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize is in the following categories:
Four (4) person Co-ed team:   $1,000.00
Four (4) person Male team:    $1,000.00
Four (4) person Female team:   $1,000.00
Two (2) person Co-ed team:   $   500.00
Two (2) person Co-ed team:   $   500.00
Two (2) person Co-ed team:   $   500.00

Expenses not stated are solely the responsibility of the winner.

Second Place Prize: The team that with the second largest percentage of total weight loss from the Start Date to the Completion Date will be named the second place winner. While the second place winner doesn’t have to have won any weekly prizes throughout the contest period to be eligible for the second place prize, winning a weekly prize or prizes will not disqualify a team from winning the second place prize. The Second Place Prize is in the following categories:

Four (4) person Co-ed team:   $   500.00
Four (4) person Male team:    $   500.00
Four (4) person Female team:   $   500.00
Two (2) person Co-ed team:   $   250.00
Two (2) person Co-ed team:   $   250.00
Two (2) person Co-ed team:   $   250.00

Expenses not stated are solely the responsibility of the winner.

The total approximate retail value of all prizes in the contest is $6,750.

FCC reserves the right to change any actual prize at any time during the contest. In this event, every effort will be made to provide a prize of like estimated value. FCC does not warrant or make any representations in connection with the prizes, express or implied. Any gift cards awarded as prizes are not redeemable for cash except where required by law. Lost or stolen gift cards cannot be replaced. There are no service fees or expiration dates connected with the use of the gift cards. To check card balances follow the instructions on the gift card. All costs and expenses not specified in the above prize descriptions, if any, are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. The provided approximate retail value of each of the prizes is an approximation. Any difference between the approximate retail value and the actual cost of any prize will not be awarded. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded, and if by reason of an error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in the Official Rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be included in a random drawing to award the advertised number of prizes available in the prize category in question. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded.

IDENTIFICATION OF WINNERS. FCC will announce the weekly winning teams by 5:00 pm CST on the Monday following the Weekly Weigh In. Time as set forth above by posting the team name at slimdownwithrivertown.com and shall contact the winning weekly teams by email from the information provided on the Eligible Entry. FCC will announce the Grand Prize and second place teams by 5:00 pm CST before the tenth business day following the Completion Date. FCC will contact the winning teams of the Grand Prize and second place prize by mail or email from the information provided on the Eligible Entry without one week from the date of the Completion Date. Each individual participant of the winning team must accept the prize by signing and returning the Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity documentation is received by FCC for all team members. If a team member of the winning team refuses to execute the Affidavit/Release, then the entire team will be disqualified and the prize will be awarded to the next applicable team. A list of all winning teams will be posted online at www.slimdownwithrivertown.com and www.RiverTownMultimedia.com/slimdown and a list of all winning teams may be requested by printing your name, address, phone number, contest name and the words “Request for Winners Names – Slim down with RiverTown on a 3” by 5” card, inserting the card into an envelope and mailing it to: 2760 North Service Drive, Red Wing, MN  55066 attention:  Slim Down With RiverTown. The winning participants are responsible for any taxes associated with the award of a prize. Please note that FCC will only provide the name of the team and total weight loss percentage to the general public. FCC will not provide individual names or individual weight loss information publicly.
