Traverse City Youth Triathlon

The Traverse City Youth Triathlon is a fun and challenging event
for grade school aged kids.  (Must be able to safely ride a bicycle without assistance from additional wheels or another person.)

Young athletes swim, bike and run in this 3-event race that not only promotes fitness but improves your child's self confidence as they cross the finish line on their own.

A great introduction to the sport, TCYT offers a short swim in a lap pool, followed by a safe bike ride and a fun run. Youth triathletes will transition just like adults in secure T1/T2 areas. We strongly encourage friends and family to come cheer on these young competitors for one of the best spectator events of the season.

All events will be held at the Traverse City Civic Center in Traverse City, MI.

Where and When?
When: 6/6/2015, first age group starts at 9AM

Where: Civic Center

How far do we SWIM, BIKE & RUN?
Ages 12 and under (recommended) - 100 yd swim, 3 mile bike, 1/2 mile run

Advanced (Recommended for those looking for a challenge) - 200 yd swim, 6 mile bike, 1 mile run

Where will they swim – bike – run?:
Kid's Swim: The kid's swim is based on the distances above. The swim is in a safe environment in lap pool. Kids MUST be able to swim WITHOUT the use of any flotation device. Lifeguards will be present in the water to ensure safety.

Kid's Bike: The kid's bike course is on park paths at the Grand Traverse Civic Center. Safety is the number one concern.  **Approx. distance of one lap is 1 mile.

Kid's Run: The kid's run course is on park property. Distances are above. There will be one aid station that will be used for all ages.The aid station will have water only.

How much does it cost?

Register for $30 until 6/5/2015.

Register day-of for $40. So register early!

Online registration is CLOSED on 6/5/2015. Registration is available for $40 in person at registration on Race Day.

Please stay tuned for more information on TRI Classes that we will supply as the event gets closer. We hope to supply some pool exposure prior to the event. We will also look to supply basic race orientation info as well prior to June 6th.

All participants will receive a medal for participating.

Post Race:
Post race includes snacks and refreshments.
