Traverse City Area Public Schools LEAP Program

TCAPS Learning, Enrichment, and Athletic Program (LEAP) provides increased opportunities for engagement beyond the school day through educational and recreational activities to improve learning, health, and wellness . The mission of the Learning Enrichment and Athletic Program is to support successful academic achievement for all students through extracurricular athletic and enrichment opportunitites. Each student who registers and pays to participate in athletic and/or recreational activities offered through LEAP will be ensured access to available programming. LEAP program offerings range in cost based on age level for which it is offered, length of season, equipment needs, cost of instruction, etc. TCAPS has worked to keep participation costs as reasonable as possible as the program would not be sustainable without participation fees. Participants, coaches, parents, and spectators are expected to demonstrate the highest degree of sportsmanship at all times.

The TCAPS LEAP Program serves students aged Pre-K to 12th Grade. Activities range from a variety of athletic offerings (basketball, football, flag football, volleyball, wrestling, tennis, track, cross country, pitching clinics, cheer, softball, martial arts, junior roller derby) to enrichment opportuntities such as art, drama classes, and robotics. All LEAP activities are held outside of the regular school day. All transportation to and from LEAP activities, practices and contests is the sole responsiblity of the parent unless otherwise specified at the time of registration.
