21st Annual Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race

Race Date: January 9, 2021, 9:30 AM Start!

This event is the season kickoff for many sled dog enthusiasts! The TCSDR attracts mushers from all over the United States, as well as Canada, South Africa and New Zealand. 10 Dog Pro class will be ISDRA sanctioned.

Race Classes for January 9, 2021:

10 Dog Pro -  41 miles

6 Dog Sportsman - 24 miles

4 Dog Sportsman - 16 miles

2/3 Dog Youth - 2 - 5 miles (TBD)

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN DECEMBER 1ST, 2020 AT 8:00 PM

The 2021 race will be limited to 40 teams total (irrespective of class) in order to meet all federal, state, and local public health guidelines. After the 40 team limit is reached, a musher can register to be on the waiting list through the race website www.tcsdr.org  Please use this link: https://tcsdr.org/waitlist-registration/ 

ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY CLOSE OF ENTRIES AT 11:59 PM DECEMBER 31ST, 2020.

NO LATE ENTRIES, NO EXCEPTIONS.

REFUND POLICY: Special consideration will be made to refund entry fees to a musher(s) who cannot attend due to the personal impact of COVID-19. With that being said, please alert the race board immediately if you cannot attend so that you do not hold one of the limited entry spots.

All registrations for the January 9th, 2021 race need to be completed and paid for online. No exceptions.

TCSDR Event Waiver

In consideration of my participation in the Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race, sanctioned with the International Sled Dog Racing Association (ISDRA), to be held on January 9, 2021, sponsored and managed by TCSDR, Inc., whose address is 19611 16 Mile Road, Marshall, MI 49068, and the use of land owned by the State of Michigan and the use of private land, in connection with the event on that date and practice on the race course in advance of the race, and in recognition of the fact that in such participation and in the use of such facilities, injuries may occur, I do hereby covenant with the State of Michigan, all private landowners, ISDRA, and the TCSDR, Inc., that I will never sue or bring legal action or proceeding against them, or their respective officers, employees or agents, for or on account of any injury or damage sustained by me, which I have now or may have against them, their respective officers, employees or agents, or any nature, arising out of the Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race or the use of the land owned or managed by the above named entities whether arising within the confines of the event or elsewhere, or for any claim or demand I have or may have against them, their respective officers, employees or agents, of any nature arising out of any such injury, and this Release and Indemnity Agreement may be presented as a complete defense to any action or other proceeding which may be brought, instituted or taken by me, or my legal representatives, against the above named entities, their respective officers, employees or agents.

This covenant not to sue is executed by me not in satisfaction of any damages sustained, nor as compensation for injuries, nor in settlement for any claim for damages; but rather is in sole consideration of my participation in the Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race and the use of the land owned or managed by the above-named entities.

I further hereby covenant to indemnify and save harmless the above named entities and private land owners, their respective officers, employees and agents, against any claim for damages, compensation, or otherwise on the part of me, my heirs, executors, or administrators, and to reimburse or make good any loss or damages or costs that the aforesaid indemnities may have to pay if any litigation arises on account of any claims made by me or anyone in my behalf. I agree to be responsible for my conduct and that of my helpers and my dogs. I understand and agree to run the race under TCSDR and/or ISDRA rules and shall abide by any official decisions made at the race.

****SPECIAL NOTE**** by entering this race and entering this property you assume complete responsibility for your own safety and that of your family or others traveling with you in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks will be required when not racing or not in your own parking location. Social distancing of 6 feet or more will be required. You will be required to follow all  written guidelines. Written guidelines will be provided on our website and upon entering the premises.
