Back and bigger than ever...Fat Chance! is the staple of fat biking in Northern Michigan, and we're back yet again for another legendary race at the breathtaking ski resort.

Registration and packet pick-up are at the beautiful Thistle, alongside Crystal's nicest fireplace and a cozy little restaurant to settle in for a big day on the bike. That comfy sofa and a selection of Short's Brewing's finest should be ample motivation to keep on plugging along, with an awards ceremony to follow directly after all the races have finished. We'll have our own hideaway for awards, post-race food and celebrations.

To provide for a faster, more competitive race, and to celebrate our fifth Fat Chance!, we're moving back to the first course we ever race. The Otter Loop is 1.5 miles of speed, with a few challenging, twisting sections punctuated each lap by a wearing sort of climb at the half way point. It's a course where the margin for error is nill, and the penalty for mistakes is massive. 

There will be four categories scored for the year-long points, the Men's Open, Men's Masters, Women's Open, and Women's Masters. No Short events will count towards points.
