Important Information About this Race

Lost Pines is an IFSS Accredited Event and will be following IFSS Rules.  This event is also ISDRA sanctioned.  We will post results and awards according to IFSS classes, but ISDRA results will be submitted in the ISDRA format. 

Only competitors with a valid IFSS DID number at the time of the event will be able to earn points in the IFSS World Cup Point score at this event.

• Competitors are not allowed to run more than once in any class.

• All Dogs must be at least 18 months of age.

Driver’s Meeting and Race Start Times

Driver's Meeting will be at the race site on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 8:00 AM

Race will start at 9:00 AM unless weather/temperatures dictate an earlier start.  This will be announced before the race.

Adult Classes Offered

There will be no Sport subclasses, only All Breed (Pro) and Registered Breed* If you were only planning to run in a sport class, please indicate in your registration that you are NOT competing for IFSS world cup points.

The following classes are offered for:  All Breed, Registered Breed* subclasses

The below classes are IFSS Accredited** and ISDRA Sanctioned as indicated and these classes will run the 2.5 mile trail.  For the rig classes, 3-wheeled rigs are permitted for this race.

6-Dog Rig (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)
4-Dog Rig (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)
2-Dog Bikejor (ISDRA Sanctioned only)
2-Dog Scooter (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)
 

The below classes are IFSS Accredited and ISDRA Sanctioned as indicated and these classes will run the 2.0 mile trail:

1-Dog Bikejor (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)
1-Dog Scooter (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)

Men’s Canicross (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)
Women’s Canicross (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)

*NOTE:  Registered Breed:  AKC (American Kennel Club), CKC (Canadian Kennel Club), or UKC (United Kennel Club) registered Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and Samoyeds are eligible to compete in this group. The entire team must be registered and paperwork proving this is a registered nordic breed dog must be available.

**NOTE:  Drivers wishing to compete for World Cup points must have a current IFSS DID (Driver Identification #).

Saturday Only Additional Classes (these classes are not accredited or sanctioned).  These classes will be run on the 2.0 mile trail:

•     Puppy Fun Run Class, 1 or 2 dogs:  Choice of bike, scooter or canicross.  Make selection when you enter
•     Senior Dog Run Run Class, 1 or 2 dogs:  Choice of rig, bike, scooter or canicross.  Make selection when you enter
• If you are entering one or both of the above classes and NOT any of the other classes, then you can choose to purchase the "Fun Run Only" membership for $5.

Junior Classes Offered

This class will be run on the 2.5 mile trail:

Junior 4-dog Rig (IFSS Accredited, if running 3 dogs ISDRA Sanctioned).  NOTE:  Any JR entries running 3 dogs in this class, will be eligible for both IFSS and ISDRA points. IFSS Rules permit a minimum of 3 dogs for this class.

These classes will be run on the 2.0 mile trail:

Junior 1-Dog Bikejor (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)
Junior 1-Dog Scooter (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)
Junior Canicross (IFSS Accredited/ISDRA Sanctioned)

NOTE: The Junior Bikejor and Scooter classes will be run as one wheeled class with the bikejors going out first, followed by the scooters.  The Junior Canicross will be run separately.

*No Whips
*No Wrist Ropes and/or Driver Restraints Allowed
*Helmets and protective eyewear required in all Wheeled Classes
*Snub Line required on 6 & 4 Dog Rigs while on trail

Entries will close on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 6:00 PM EST.  NO LATE ENTRIES PLEASE!!!

Entry Fees are listed for each class in the Registration Section.  Entries are accepted online only.

You must accept the Standard Driver’s Release Waiver before you can pay for your entries.

In the event the race is cancelled, your entry fee will be refunded (minus the bytepro process fee).

GLSDA Membership 

GLSDA membership is required to race and must be purchased online here on bytepro. If membership is not purchased online, you can only purchase membership BEFORE the Drivers Meeting on Saturday before 8 AM.

NOTE:  If you are entering either or both of the Saturday Fun Run classes and are NOT entering any of the other classes, then you can elect to purchase the "Fun Run Only" membership for $5.

Lodging

Lost Pines Lodge has rooms and cabins to offer as follows: 

Lost Pine room rates start at $120 per night, first come first serve. NO DOGS. Cabin rental sleeps 8-10 people, starting rate at $250.00, 2 Dog Maximum with an additional $35.00 charge per dog. If there is excessive mess or damage, Lost Pines will charge extra fee accordingly to their discretion. Lost Pines contact info: 231-389-2222

Rustic Camping Available at Race Site, no electric or water.

Camping Rates:  $40 for two nights, $25 for one night
Camping site can be purchased here on bytepro along with your entries

In addition, there are many hotels (some pet-friendly) are available in Cadillac area as well.

Food

The Lost Pines Lodge bar will be open Friday night until 1AM.

Lunch on both Saturday and Sunday will be available for purchase at the Lost Pines Lodge bar (opens at Noon).

Saturday evening a Pasta Dinner will be offered and can be purchased here on bytepro along with your registration.  The dinner will offer your choice of red meat sauce or alfredo sauce, Caesar salad and garlic bread.  Dinner will be served from 5-7 pm and cost is $13.99 per person, kids under 12 is $10.99.

Directions to Race Site

From the South on Highway 131, take exit #168 onto 20 Mile Road and go across the overpass to the West. Take a Right turn onto 200th Avenue (Yoder’s of Tustin is on this corner).  Stay on this road until it intersects with M55.  Take a Left onto M55.  Stay on M55 (about 6 miles) until you reach Galvanek’s used cars and turn Right onto S 21 Road.  Stay on S 21 Road until you reach W 38 Road, turn Left onto W 38 Road and stay on that road until you reach S 15 ½ Road.  Turn Right onto S 15 ½ Road to the Lost Pines Lodge.

From the North on Highway 131, get off of the 1st Cadillac exit or Boon Rd. Go right towards Boon stay on this road and cross 115 to the end. You will go across a set of RR tracks and come to a stop sign. This is 23rd rd, go left or south. Go 2 miles to 38 Rd, go right 1 mile until a sharp curve to the left. Veer off to the right at this curve so you go onto a seasonal dirt rd. Still 38 rd and continue about 2 ½ miles to Lost Pine Lodge on the corner on 38 Rd and 15 ½ Rd.

Silent Auction:

There will be a one-day only Silent Auction on Saturday, October 19.  The auction will close one hour after the last class runs.
