Minocqua Almost Winter Dryland Dog Dash

Wisconsin Trailblazers is hosting the IFSS North American Continental Championships at the Minocqua “Almost” Winter Dryland Dash on October 26&27. There will be selections to represent Team USA at the Continental Championships, and then these and all other racers still have the opportunity to register here and compete at the second half of the event, the Minocqua “Almost” Winter Dryland Dash. Those participating at the Minocqua “Almost” Winter Dryland Dash will not be eligible for IFSS medals, but this portion of the weekend will be run under ISDRA rules and ISDRA points will be awarded for ISDRA members. The North American Continental Championships will be run under IFSS rules.

Continental Championships will start at 8AM on Saturday and Sunday.

The ISDRA-sanctioned Minocqua “Almost” Winter Dryland Dash will follow in the afternoon. ISDRA race musher meeting time TBD.

Mileage: 3.1 miles and 2.4 miles.

Purse: Since this is part of a championship event, there will be no purse. However, we will have lots of cool prizes and awards.

All Breed: This is for people running any breed of dog at a competitive level

RNB: AKC (American Kennel Club), CKC (Canadian Kennel Club), or UKC (United Kennel Club) registered Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and Samoyeds are eligible to compete in this group. The entire team must be registered and paperwork proving this is a registered nordic breed dog must be available. 

All non-Continental Champtionship competitors must have a Wisconsin Trailblazers Sleddog Club Membership.
All competitors must have a USFSS Membership and DID #.

ISDRA Membership only required if you are seeking to gain ISDRA points.

Camping is allowed on-site and can be purchased when you register.

Registration closes at 8:00 PM CST on Monday, October 21st, 2024.

We will be hosting IFSS Judge Training as part of this event. Anyone interested in becoming an IFSS Certified Race Judge should attend this seminar. The seminar will start Wednesday, October 23rd at 9AM. Wednesday and Thursday will be held in a classroom format with an exam and race course review on Friday. Saturday and Sunday trainees will shadow IFSS Race Marshal Jim Cunningham and apply what they have learned. Those interested in judge training can NOT compete in any IFSS Championship classes at the race while completing training.

If you want to race and do judge training, you can just complete the classroom portion Wednesday-Friday and complete your shadowing at a different event. Shadowing must occur within 3 years of taking the class.
