Minocqua Almost Winter Dryland Dog Dash

Location: Minocqua Winter Park - 7588 Squirrel Hill Rd, Minocqua, WI 54548

WITB is hosting the IFSS North American Continental Championships at the Minocqua “Almost” Winter Dryland Dash October 26&27. There will be selections to represent Team USA at the continental championships. We have 10 Elite (all breed pro), 10 RNB, and unlimited Master’s (40 years old+) spots to fill. If you aren’t selected, you will have the opportunity to still register here and compete at the event but you will not be eligible for IFSS medals. This event is still ISDRA sanctioned as well but will be run under IFSS rules. 

Race meeting will start at 8 a.m. CST on Saturday morning. Races start at 9:00 a.m. both mornings.

Mileage: 1 and 2 dog classes: 2.3 mile. Rig Classes: 3.1ish miles. 

Purse: Since this is a championship event there will be no purse.

All Breed Pro: This is for people running any breed of dog at a competitive level. Entrants are eligible for All Breed Pro Money. 

RNB Pro: AKC (American Kennel Club), CKC (Canadian Kennel Club), or UKC (United Kennel Club) registered Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and Samoyeds are eligible to compete in this group. The entire team must be registered and paperwork proving this is a registered nordic breed dog must be available. Entrants are only eligible for RNB Pro purse money. 

Sport: This is for people running for the first time or any non-competitive mushers. Sport class entrants are not eligible for purse money.  

All competitors must have a Wisconsin Trailblazers Sleddog Club Membership and a USFSS Membership and DID #. WITB Membership can be purchased when you register for the race, USFSS Membership and DID # to be purchased at https://usfss.org/membership-did-number/. 

Camping is allowed on-site and can be purchased when you register.

Registration closes at 8:00 PM CST on Monday, October 1st, 2024.

We will be hosting IFSS Judge Training as part of this event. Anyone interested in becoming an IFSS Certified Race Judge should attend this seminar. The seminar will start Thursday, November 9 at 9am. Thursday and Friday will be held in a classroom format with an exam on Friday. Saturday and Sunday trainees will shadow IFSS Race Marshal Jim Cunningham and apply what they have learned. Those interested in judge training can compete in one class at the race while completing training.
