10th Annual TC Trimdown

Join us for the 10th Annual TC Trimdown (virtually) starting January 3rd, 2024 at 9am through January 4th, 2024 at 8pm! The cost to enter is only $10 per person. We will be awarding $1,800 in gift certificates to the winning teams and donating a portion of all proceeds to the Northwest MI Food Coalition and the NMC Student Food Pantry.

What is TC Trimdown?

TC Trimdown is a community challenge to commit to a healthier lifestyle, put on by the Traverse City Record-Eagle. The challenge starts with our Official Weigh-In event (virtually) from January 3rd, 2024 at 9am until January 4th, 2024 at 8pm, at which teams of 2 or 4 start their health journey by entering their team's starting total weights!

Throughout the challenge your team captain will log-in to www.tctrimdown.com every Friday by 12pm (starting Friday, 1/12/24 through Friday, 3/8/24) and report your team's total weekly weight. We will also hold sporadic challenges via our Facebook, provide our favorite answer to that week's question and you will win prizes for your whole team!

We will hold the Official Weigh-Out event (virtually) on March 13th, 2024 starting at 9am through March 14th, 2024 at 8pm. Participants will enter their team's final weights for the challenge and we will hold our Virtual Winner Ceremony on Facebook Live on March 15th, 2024, so make sure to tune in to find out who wins! Winning teams are based on total percentage of body weight loss.

1st place male, female and co-ed teams of 4 win $100 gift certificates for each team member!
1st place male, female and co-ed teams of 2 win $100 gift certificates for each team member!

How do I participate?

If you would like to participate, simply click on what team category you would like to sign up for and enter your entire team's information. The cost to participate is $10 per person, with a portion of that amount going back to the NW MI Food Coalition and the NMC Student Food Pantry. The NW MI Food Coalition provides for 36 pantries, 8 baby pantries and 26 community meal sites in our region.

We will be requiring for all participants to register for this event online & the Official Weigh-In and Weigh-Out will be held virtually. Team captains will receive an email with a link to the Weights platform on the morning of the first day of the Official Weigh-In Event.

We require all participants to enter their starting, weekly and final weights for their teams as accurately and truthfully as possible for the fairness and enjoyment of all participants in this challenge. You will need to remove shoes, jackets, sweatshirts, and empty your pockets so please dress in form-fitting clothes for your weigh-ins.

Your team, whether as a whole together or as separate pictures of team members, must take a "before" photo and upload it through the Weigh-In system prior to the Official Weigh-In ending so we can track your progress throughout the challenge, as well as a final "after" photo during the Official Weigh-Out Event time period!

In connection with the entry, participants will be required to provide their name, postal address, gender, birth date, email address, and team name.

Each Friday during the contest period, each team member must do an individual weigh in, such weigh in may be completed at any location of the participant’s choosing. The clothing at the weekly weigh in should be substantially equivalent clothing as they wore for the weigh in on the Start Date. After all members of the team have done their individual weigh ins, on or before Friday at 12:00pm EST of each week (“Weekly Weigh In Time”), a member of the team must log onto tctrimdown.com and access his/her team webpage in order to enter the weekly weight of all team members. If a team fails to provide its weekly weigh in amounts by the Weekly Weigh In Time, for any reason, the team will be marked for their 1-time only Weekly Weigh In Pass. If the Weekly Weigh In Pass has already been utilized and a team fails to provide its weekly weigh in amounts for a second time, the entire team will be disqualified from the contest. Only CNHI will be able to see the team weights, no teams will be able to see other participating team’s weight or percentage losses.

On the Completion Date, all participants must appear in person at the Weigh In Center for the final weigh in of the contest (or weigh out). Final weigh in will occur between 9AM EST on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 until 8PM EST on the Completion Date. At the Weigh In Center, each participant will be weighed and his/her weight will be recorded by CNHI.  Participants must wear substantially equivalent clothing for their official weigh out as they wore for the weigh in on the Start Date.

The calculation for all prizes shall be determined by taking the teams beginning weight minus the ending weight from specified dates (as set forth below in more detail), which provides the total number of pounds lost in a given period of time. The total number of pounds lost will be divided by the beginning weight, which sum will be multiplied by 100 which equals the percentage of weight loss for such period of time.
