Join TC West Senior High for their second annual Homeward Bound 5k run/walk to raise money and help support the local homeless population!
After last year’s successful race and fun walk, the Community Outreach Council has passed the torch to the National Honors Society at West to facilitate a second Homeward Bound 5K race/walk. Members will be using leadership skills to set up the race, find sponsors, and work with the community to ensure that Pete’s Place, a local teen shelter, benefits once again. Homeward Bound is a student run event that will raise funds to support a program that provides a safe place for many Traverse City area teens.
The second Homeward Bound 5K race/walk, hosted by West’s National Honors Society, will be on Sunday, May 17th at West Middle School. Registration begins at 1:00pm with the Start of the race/walk beginning at 2:30pm, wrapping up at 6:00 pm. All donations and proceeds will go towards supporting Pete’s Place, a local teen homeless shelter that is part of the Third Level Crisis Center and Goodwill Inn. Local musicians will play while the event proceeds. Refreshments will be provided for participants in the event and food will be available for purchase. Families are welcome to participate and enjoy the event.
